Medium-long quill brush with black ox hair, short wooden handle and nickel-plated brass ferrule.
The black ox hair is characterised by an extreme softness and by a good release of water and colour absorbency. Thanks to its low elasticity and thin hair, it is ideal for light and streak-free layers, for shading, large backgrounds, subtle shadows and glazing.
Series 251 is characterised by a wide round head with slightly-flat shape tip and medium-long fibre, ideal for extensive shading and thin broad-field glazes. When pressure is applied, it creates a petal-shaped stroke. The brushstroke is soft and light, available in a limited range of sizes given the particularity of use.
Appreciated by oil painters, decorators and country landscape painters, as well as by professional gilders and luthiers. The handle is short, natural, balanced and light, being very manageable and suitable for precise details and on horizontal work surfaces. The line is soft, without any obvious strokes.

The line is broad and free from any obvious edges, suitable for the lightest shading.
